Practical Skills
For supervisors in ABA, practicum supervision can be such a rewarding and exciting endeavor! And, boy can it be overwhelming! Where does one start? How do you ensure you’re addressing all the skills, giving a balanced and comprehensive experience to your future behavior analyst?
This project is part of a curriculum of projects where I've taken the entire Task List (V6) and broken it down in practical, do-able learning opportunities, with differentiated instruction (Basic, Moderate, and Advanced learning levels). Each project in the curriculum includes a breakdown to the Task List items and soft skills the project is likely to cover; a scoring sheet for all related skills in the project; and a progress tracking page.
Practical Skills: Any BCBA worth their weight will first and foremost be an excellent implementer. This project is more of a checklist on direct ABA intervention; note that this is the only component of the Practicum Project that is not arranged by differentiated instruction. Rather, this is arranged by typical flow of instruction. For example, there are sections on Antecedent Interventions, Instructional Delivery, and Responding to Barrier Behavior.
